Melissa Shoes

I certainly hope my family and friends are taking note of this post because I have a new item on my wish list. This week I was introduced to Melissa shoes and it was love at first sight I tell you.

Originating from Brazil, these beauties are made of plastic, well more specifically – Melflex. Without getting into the scientific details, this material moulds to your foot and offers superior support and comfort. Now, even though I mentioned plastic and comfort, let’s refrain from a Crocs inference ladies! These shoes are most definitely fashion forward, playful and truly unique in both beauty and form. Each shoe is a work of art, a conversation starter. Melissa shoes have an air of exclusivity about them with there being nothing else quite like them on the market.

Adding to its allure, the Melissa brand has teamed up with some high profile designers like Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu and recently, Karl Lagerfeld using Cara Delevingne as his muse, to create some signature collections boasting distinctive pieces. Many celebs have also taken a liking to the brand including my fave, Katy Perry.

I’m not done just yet; the shoes are hypoallergenic, 100% recyclable and I’m yet to mention the candylicious smell that NEVER fades. The more I work on this post, the more I WANT NEED a pair! If you too feel this way then head over to Melissa’s local online store or to one of the following locations listed here to look (and sniff) at some pairs. Here are some of my favourites that I spotted at Stuttafords.

Oh and BTW… for Mother’s day, if you shop online and use the coupon code #MOTHERSDAY you will get 30% off orders above R800. Happy shopping!
