Forever New: Renaissance Revival

Less is more? No no no… more is more! High end designers fancifully displayed the drama of the baroque era on the Autumn/Winter 2013 runways. A perfect example would have to be Dolce and Gabbana’s collection as can be seen here.

Naturally, I'm delighted to see the baroque trend finally gracing South African stores. Forever New’s latest Renaissance Revival collection allows us to take home a piece of the opulence. The collection captures the essence of the trend beautifully through the use of ornate patterns and gold detailing. The flared skirt displayed below is the best baroque inspired piece I've seen in-store so far this season.

Other than the baroque influences, I'm charmed by the decorative floral adorned fabric, the jewel tones, animal print and lace inserts.

  2. So on trend! And having a musically inclined family member, I'm bound to love the fact that one of the inspirations for the collection included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (hence the piano).Thought you would appreciate this too.
