{Fashion Feature} Hello Joburg Magazine

It is September thus officially Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. For me, Spring fashion is all about pretty pastels and fun florals. When I was asked by Hello Joburg magazine to put together the perfect Spring outfit, that is the combination I went for but obviously put a corporate spin on it. In early Spring, the temperatures are not exactly soaring so this pastel blazer takes the nip out of the early morning chill or the office air conditioner. The androgyny of the jacket is strategically contrasted by the figure-hugging, floral skirt. The print of the skirt is subtle and thus youthful and has Spring written all over it!

Download a copy of the September issue of Hello Joburg magazine here to see what my fellow bloggers and I have to say about what to shop for this Spring. If you live in Joburg and want to stay on top of the trendy places to stay, eat or shop then follow Hello Joburg magazine on Twitter and Facebook.

Wishing you blissful Spring days, beauties!

{The September Issue} Hyde Park Corner

Hyde Park Corner, Africa’s centre of luxury, launches its September Issue and much like the centre itself, the glossy oozes opulence and high fashion. The fashion images are striking, captivating and showcases the illustrious international brands that Hyde Park Corner has to offer with a sartorial splendour that is worthy of the fashion bible it is emulating. Fashion, however, is not the only theme. Travel, d├ęcor and food inspiration completes the portrayal of the lavish lifestyle that the September Issue encapsulates. The quality of the issue makes me proud to say that I have been featured. Yes, I was out and about at Hyde Park Corner and my favourite activities were chronicled in the issue.

At Hyde Park Corner, I am spoilt for choice when it comes to fragrances.

I always visit Tasha’s Cafe for a Pineapple, Pear and Ginger juice and a macaron or two or ten.

You will have to get the issue to see what else I got up to. Hyde Park Corner’s September issue will be available at the centre’s concierge desk from the 1st of September and you can pre-order your copy here.

{Six Pix} Benefit Cosmetics

If life has been crazy for you these last few months then you probably don't know that Benefit Cosmetics is back on South African soil. The beautifully packaged brand from San Francisco is now available from selected Edgars' stores (Sandton, Clearwater, Cresta, Canal Walk) as well as online. Since the news broke, South African beauties familiar with the brand have been giddy with excitement. However, if you are unfamiliar with all things Benefit then you are most probably wondering why there is so much hype surrounding the relaunch. Well, let me introduce you to some of Benefit's bestsellers and I guarantee you that you will then be on the same page.

1. They're Real push-up liner - the lash-hugging gel liner allows you to achieve the perfect winged effect and the fact that it is in pen form makes it very easy to use.
2. Porefessional - the perfect primer that minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines and helps your make-up stay put for hours.
3. Gimme Brow - the brush-on gel that helps you create fuller looking eyebrows that will frame your face perfectly.
4. Girl Meets Pearl - the liquid highlighter with light-reflecting gold and pink pigments is the prettiest highlighter I have personally come across.
5. Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation -  the lightweight formula of this foundation is akin to that of a BB cream however with superior coverage. This foundation melted into my skin and created a flawless finish indeed (without the heavy feeling). I am so very impressed with this foundation.
6. Posiebalm - the balm that glides on like butter and leaves the perfect amount of pretty pink tint on your lips.

This is only a handful of the amazing products Benefit currently has to offer. I highly recommend that you visit a Benefit counter and give each and every product a try (they have a skin care range too). If you visit the Sandton store ask for Ramon to give you a mini makeover or to help you shape and glam your eyebrows - you won't be disappointed.

{Outfit Of The Day} Sneaker Game

Sneakers have become a staple for me this Winter and instead of reaching for my boots, I find myself reaching for my Nikes more often than not. I purchased this pair of Nike Air Max 1 sneakers on Superbalist. The floral pattern and mint green tick had me sold the moment I saw the picture online. They are beyond perfect in my eyes and super comfortable. This easy-going outfit is suited for a visit to the Farmers' Market or an appearance at a lazy Sunday afternoon music festival. What do you think of my newly formed sneaker addiction and the outfit as a whole?

{Beauty Review} Versace Eros Pour Femme

A zesty new scent has been added to my fragrance collection and it is one that you may be familiar with thanks to its extensive marketing campaign. The inspiration behind this newly released scent is centred around Eros, the God of love in Greek mythology and how he succumbed to the seduction of a beautiful women. The concept is carried through to the opulent golden bottle and multifaceted scent that I myself could not help but fall in love with.

Initially, the fragrance comes across as very fruity with top notes of Sicilian Lemon, Calabrian Bergamot and Pomegranate Grains. A touch of crisp green apple is thrown into the top notes, adding to the freshness. The scent then develops with base notes of Jasmine Sambac, Peony and Sandalwood. A unique depth is added to the fragrance by the woody notes, distinguishing it from other standard fruity and floral scents. But don't take my word for it, pop into a Stuttafords store and experience this seducing fragrance for yourself.

{Six Pix} Birthday Wish List

It is my birthday on the 30th of June and there has been some demand for me to make a wish list. So here it is, themed in black and gold. Earlier this year I had some time to kill before an event so I popped into the Jo Malone store in Hyde Park Corner. It was then that I was introduced to the heavenly scent of Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia cologne. It is a fruity and refreshing scent that would be a wonderful addition to my fragrance tray. When it comes to my make-up collection, I'm in desperate need of great brushes (Real Techniques brushes from Biovea.com for R119) and high quality eye shadow (MAC, R195). The recently released Garden Escape make-up collection by Clarins is just so pretty and owning the lip oil (Clarins, R250) from this collection would greatly improve the condition of my lips this Winter. Lastly, a fashion girl can never have too many handbags (BlackCherry available from Zando for R439) or too many accessories and for me personally, rings are my kryptonite.
